It’s really a celebration of arts and culture,” Tickles said. “It’s great to see the community come here and just hang out at the museum.” As its last concert of the semester, ADEKU performed traditional African songs called Fankani, Kuku and Konowulen that have specific stories and cultural purposes behind them. Kuku, from Guinea, is mainly played for parties that involve lots of dancing. The song was fast-paced and upbeat, and the band got the audience to interact. “The Spencer Museum of Art has invited us back every year,” said Kimberly Simonetti, a social media manager of ADEKU. - See more at: http://kansan.com/entertainment/2014/05/05/spring-arts-and-culture-festival-festival-brings-african-music-to-town/#sthash.mAG6Pjza.dpuf

Celebrities protest Beverly Hills Hotel ownership

http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/06/showbiz/celebrity-news-gossip/beverly-hills-hotel-celebrity-protest-brunei/ I think is "It's not a political issue. This is not something that's debatable. ... It's people being stoned to death," he said. A number of organizations have moved -- or threatened to move -- events scheduled for the hotel.

ISI Technology Can Heat Your Water Instantly and Efficiently

http://techcrunch.com/2014/05/06/isi-technology-reinvents-the-water-heater-with-the-heatworks-model-1/ Pity the article doesn't spell out the measurable ways in which this unit is better than what's currently available. Unnecessarily vague and salesy.

‘Hurricane Shmuricane’

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/05/07/hurricane-shmuricane-science-guy-bill-nye-and-s-e-cupp-face-off-over-global-warming/ There is no such thing as scientific “fact”, only the prevailing theory, which should be constantly challenged with new data. In the case of “Global Warming”, the IPCC built four computer models of what they said their “theory” would show. All four failed. In addition, many benchmarks were laid out for “climate change.” (Al Gore’s book listed them.) These too failed. If we were to really be using science here, we would conclude that “Global Warming” as presented is a failed theory, and await a new theory to test.

Abducted girls forced to marry Nigerian extremists

http://time.com/82502/abducted-girls-forced-to-marry-nigerian-extremists/ I was overwhelmed when i read the article. It shows that bibery and corruption has over taken Nigeria to it peak. Boko Ha-ram has been the order of the day in the life of people in Nigeria most especially people from Northern Area.People waking up believing that something might happen to them at anytime. Boko Ha-ram is now tagged the wolf of Nigeria. Most at times we imagine where our problem comes from, but is right within. Is unimaginable for someone to kidnapp more than 200 human being, shows that something is behind it,and it shows the high rate of inhumanity in the society,i pray God should vindicate and interceed in their life.

Science Tools Anyone Can Afford

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/22/science/science-tools-anyone-can-afford.html As the world is getting smaller and smaller in every second by what human try to make their life so easy, developing new science laboratories for the benefit of good life....well i think that is pretty intelligence of human that GOD has gave us.Exploring the society and trying to figure out what is needed in our planet just to make things easy i think that is very interesting .The microscope is part of Dr. Prakash’s larger vision of providing “science laboratories for the rest of us.” And that goal was further advanced earlier this month .The microscope will make it possible for schoolchildren, laboratory technicians and even the world’s best scientists to have the imaging power of a desktop instrument worth several thousand dollars at the cost of less than a dollar. can you imagine this? How the microscopes can bring big change in societies?

Nigeria Economy

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2014/04/nigeria-becomes-africa-largest-economy-20144618190520102.html i was astonished after reading the article.it threw more view on what is happening in Nigeria today.Nigeria don't have to compete with any other Africa countries because of the resources God has given them.Nigeria been oil top producer from 80.22 trillion Naira. which is equivalent to $509.bn has moved up to 42.3trillion which is a huge improvement in Nigeria economy today.I believed that if Nigeria keep track and continue running their GDP will show them the extent that they have gone. But it shows that they have not done so since 1990.Bismarck Rervane also state the 'Exercise in vanity' which shows that the masses do not benefit from the resources but the government.

ARTICLE ONE (Nigerian singer's music adventure in China)

http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90782/8617805.html I like the article because it's motivational. It says more on the goal someone can set for himself, making the best out of it and also on others. The most important thing i learnt in life is change. If Emmanuel had rejected himself because of where he came from he wouldn't had made it. The bold step that he took shows that he knows his aim in life, not looking at the language barrier. He also set a goal not only for himself but also for other.(
